Troubleshooting

Indicator LEDs

  1. No Indicator LEDs come on

If none of the indicator LEDs come on, check that the power supply is connected properly and switched on. Power to the system can also be checked by depressing the float switch in the toilet cistern (or simply flushing the toilet to achieve this), at which time the RED indicator LED should come on. If the RED indicator LED doesn’t come on there is likely a power supply problem.

  1. BLUE indicator LED not on

If only the BLUE indicator LED doesn’t come on, first conduct the tests in 1. above to check that there is power to the system. If there is power and the BLUE indicator LED still doesn’t come on, check that the float switch at the bottom of the Tank is working. This can be done by testing (with a voltmeter or similar) for continuity between the two wires from this float switch when the float on the switch is in the top position. Also check that the float switch hasn’t become detached from the side of the Tank.

  1. ORANGE indicator LED doesn’t come on

If the ORANGE indicator LED doesn’t come on when the BLUE indicator LED is on and yet the Tank is overflowing, check that the float switch at the top of the Tank is working by testing (with a voltmeter or similar) for continuity between the two wires from this float switch when the float on the switch is in the top position. Also check that the float switch hasn’t become detached from the side of the Tank.

  1. RED indicator LED on permanently

If the RED indicator LED stays on permanently and the BLUE indicator LED isn’t on but there is enough water in the tank to cover the pump’s inlet, first check that the float switch at the bottom of the Tank hasn’t become detached from the side of the Tank. Also check that the wiring to this float switch isn’t entangled in the switch or the inlet pipe to the pump isn’t interfering with the switch. Next check that this float switch is working by testing (with a voltmeter or similar) for continuity between the two wires from this float switch when the float on the switch is in the top position.

  1. RED indicator LED doesn’t come on when toilet flushed

If the RED indicator LED doesn’t come on when the toilet is flushed and the BLUE indicator LED is on, first check that the float switch in the toilet cistern hasn’t become detached from the side of the cistern. Next check that this float switch is working by testing (with a voltmeter or similar) for continuity between the two wires from this float switch when the float on the switch is in the top position.

Pump

  1. Cistern not filling

If the pump is pumping but the toilet cistern isn’t filling, check that the outlet pipe from the pump hasn’t become detached.

  1. Cistern filling very slowly

If the toilet cistern is filling very slowly (taking more than 3 minutes to fill), check that the pump’s inlet hasn’t become clogged by unscrewing the detachable filter on the inlet and visually inspecting the inlet for any clogging by debris such as hair etc. If clogged, the pump will need to be removed and dismantled to remove the debris clogging the inlet. Ensure that the spindle in the pump is aligned properly when re-assembling the pump and that the small washer on the spindle is re-installed. Before screwing the detachable filter back onto the inlet to the pump, check that the filter isn’t broken or damaged and replace it if it is.

Draining problems

Shower not draining

  1. If the shower isn’t draining, or is draining very slowly, it is likely that the filter at the inlet to the tank has become clogged. Remove the filter material from the filter and remove excess debris such as hair etc. from the filter material, rinsing it after cleaning, or replace the filter material with new.
